NFL Weekly Matchups

Our matchup page has you covered for each week of the NFL season. This page is updated constantly to capture the latest vegas odds, as well as show the corresponding implied team totals and win probabilities. Implied team totals are key to NFL fantasy football, as you'll want to avoid teams with low projected totals, and lean into those who are projected to rack up the score. Clicking on a matchup will take you to a detailed view of that matchup, with even more stats and comparisons.

Using Vegas Odds for Fantasy Football

One of the first rules of setting NFL DFS lineups is to check the Vegas over/unders and expected point spreads. These two pieces of infomation can be very important in deciding which teams to target and which ones to avoid. It goes without saying that using Vegas odds is not a guarantee that you’ll win your daily fantasy football contests. The odds alone are not going to tell you which players to target. But they can reveal opportunities you can build around using other tools like our NFL Showdown player projections and DFS lineup optimizer.

Are Vegas Odds reliable for Fantasy Football?

Oddsmakers employ an army of people in Vegas and all over the world who are paid to predict the outcome of games as accurately as possible, with millions of dollars on the line if they get it wrong. So they have done a ton of the legwork already when it comes to figuring out the most likely outcome of games. There will always be suprises, injuries and upsets; however when you see a large spread you know that one team is a lot better than the other, and can adjust your strategy for this game accordingly.

How is the Spread useful for Fantasy Football?

Any game with a spread of a touchdown or more we consider a large spread. This means that one team is a lot better than the other and this is a mismatch of a game. In cases like this, the team that is heavily favored will tend to get lots of runs in, so their running backs are likely to benefit from those extra carries and make for good targets. On the underdog side of things, the team that is the heavy underdog will tend to make more throw attempts in an effort to catch up from behind, making their receivers potential targets if the price is right.

How are Implied Team Totals useful for Fantasy Football?

It might seem obvious, but the more a team scores the more fantasy points they rack up. While some people just look for games with high over/unders, that doesn't factor in the strength of each team playing. An above average over/under of 54 could come from each team scoring 27, or it could come from a blowout 43-11 game. You probably wan't to avoid the team that's predicted to score 11. The implied team total is a more accurate predictor of how much each team will score, factoring in both the game's spread and over/under. Knowing that a team is expected to put up a high score helps narrow which teams to target for stacking and drafting your offensive picks.
